HI, my Hotpoint washing machine...

HI, my Hotpoint washing machine keeps failing to complete its cycle. After a few minutes, it just stops with flashing lights on 'reduce creases' and 'time saver'. Can you please let me know what this means?

Can you tell me the model number please and also if you number the lights from top to bottom or left to right which numbers are flashing?

Thanks.
Model is Hotpoint Aquarius, WD 440, 1400 Spin.
The buttons that flash are
1) the 'on/off' light
2) two of the lights in a vertical row of five lights. The lights that flash are the second fom the top and the fourth from the top (reduce creases and time saver).

Sorry for the delay, lights 2 and 4 means you have a drainage problem.

what you need to do is remove rear panel at back and remove sump hose.

Which goes from the tub to the pump and remove any debris which is in there.

also check the pump for any blockages , refitt the hose and try again.

Hi apologies - I was away and so could not email etc.

I did what you said - when I opened the back I saw a black rubbery pipe connected to a grey pipe that went away from the washing machine, and connected inside to the drum etc.

I undid the black pipe where it connected to the grey pipe and cleared it out (there was a fair bit of stuff but it did not look completely blocked) and did it all up and then tried again, but I get exactly the same error message.

Can you let me know if there is anywhere else that I should be looking to unblock and where I should undo to do this?

Did you check the pump?

remove the hoses going to it and check inside.

Make sure the impeller turns ok.

check where the drain hose goes to if under the sink

remove the spigot under sink and make sure there is nothing in there.

if all thats clear then it could be a faulty drain pump.
