Let me check

No power surge Yes to the cables

Do you currently have access to the tv so you can try something?

Please try this:
-unplug the tv POWER cord from the wall outlet.
-wait 3 full minutes then plug in the tv power cord and try to turn on.

REPLY back here and tell me what happens.

It is still there
TV Technician: Mike G., Technician replied 4 months ago

That's not good.... Your tv needs a very very expensive repair, maybe more than buying a new tv. There is only a one year warranty, but what you can do is contact Samsung(###) ###-####and complain. Just be very careful NOT to mention anything about touching the tv or they won't cooperate. They will likely have a local authorized repair shop come out and verify the issue, then might let you trade in for another Samsung product. The alternative is likely buying a whole new tv.

you're telling me that a repair would cost more than the 1700.00 I paid for the tv
TV Technician: Mike G., Technician replied 4 months ago

Yes. The issue is in the screen which costs $1200, when you add $300 labor, you are looking at $1500, so your ONLY hope is to get Samsung involved. They are known to help out by offering trade in value on a similar product.
