I have a Sharp Aquis liquid crystal TV. WE HAD A POWER SURGE IN THE BUILDING AND IT HASNT WORKED SINCE. I did not have a surge protector. Is this fixable?

Technician's Assistant: What Sharp model do you have? How old is it?

LC-60EQ10U. About 2-3 years old

Technician's Assistant: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?

Happened over summer. It turned on, but had thick lines running horizontally across screen

- Could you please get me a picture of the TV screen showing thick lines?
- Do you get normal menu screen if push menu/ home button on Sharp TV remote?

The TV is not connected now, in garage. No menu appeared

Don’t want to talk. After the power surge, when I turned on the TV all I got was thick black lines running horozontally. Pressing various buttons on the remote did nothing.

My question - did the power surge ruin the entire TV or is there something in it that can economically be replaced?

Can’t do that, I’m done. For $45 I can take it to Best Buy, where I purchased it, and they will evaluate it. I don’t think we will get anywhere texting or talking.

I'm sorry for that, thick lines running horizontally across screen could be of several reasons so need a picture of it to understand what is causing it
