I have a 55 inch Samsung curved Smart TV and I'm trying to have it use the Ethernet connection instead of wireless; how do I do that?

Technician's Assistant: What Samsung model do you have? How old is it?

UN55HU8700F I think it's about 3 years old

Technician's Assistant: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?

The TV menu works and when I go into network connections it only prompts me for wireless so I can't use Netflix effectively unless I go through AppleTV which is connected via the Ethernet cable. Why won't it just use the Ethernet that's connected to the back panel?

You need to go into the menu settings on the TV using the TV remote and select network then settings, in the sub menu change the wireless to wired connection, turn the TV off then back on. it will set the wired connection up itself.
