Older Vizio....Mdl E420-B1....

Older Vizio....Mdl E420-B1. Closed captioning does not work anymore.Can't see anywhere in the setup options to address this.

Technician's Assistant: What's the brand and model number of your TV? How old is it?

Mdl E420=B1. Probably at least 4 yrs ols/.

Technician's Assistant: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?

Can bring up the menu , but don't see anything about cc

Technician's Assistant: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this?

May have started happening when we upgraded to a HD digital cable box...over 6 mos ago. not sure about that..only know it used to work

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the TV Expert to know before I connect you?

Hi Nathan,
I eventually figured out that my problem was due to the fact that the cable box was hooked up to the TV via an HDMI connection. Thus the cable side was controlling the c/c function . Once I accessed the Cable Box settings . I could then turn the c/c function on and off.
I appreciate your response to my question , and am pretty sure that you would have made this determination in short order , anyway.
