What are you receiving the signal from on the TV? A Cable box, Satellite? Antenna?

Can you please remove the power to the TV (so unplug it from the power socket).
Then on the actual TV, hold the power button for 60 seconds then release.
Then wait 10 minutes, connect the power again to the TV, turn it on and tell me please if it is now operating correctly.

If you play a DVD or try to get sound from another device on the TV, does that play sound?
Do you have any other devices? A DVD player, a laptop wont work, but a DVD playrer or Bluray would
ok, we test another way, first, when you increase the volume via the verizon box, do you see the volume indicator increase on the screen?
Remove the power to the verizon box, wait 5 minutes, connect it and tell me if you then get sound please
It is the internal sound card that has faulted in the TV, this confirms it. Everything else is now ruled out
