My viera cast connection...

My viera cast connection suddenly has failed

Technician's Assistant: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?

Not sure. a couple years old. HD. big sucker

Technician's Assistant: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?

I have tried multiple times to re-establish network connection. it says it is connected, but when i hit the viera cast button, it won't let me connect. Model appears to be TC-PG50G20 or TC-P54G20.

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Electronics Expert to know before I connect you?

Has worked fine until just now. Really frustrating. Watching a movie I paid for.

Did you recently have any power outages or thunderstorms?

Try restarting your wireless router and let me know if that works?

No outages. I did restart the router. When I press the "Viera Cast" button, the TV says "connection to the server failed. Please check this TV's network setting." When I go to "tools/network setting" it shows we are connected to the network. When I run the connection test, the following are confirmed: 1) connection to local network/router; 2) validate IP address; (3) check for IP address duplication. It failed on "check connection to the internet." other devices on our router connect to the internet fine, so it must be the TV?

Sometimes the router can get confused, however a reboot should have resolved that.

Can you test the TV on a wired connection?
