Customer: 3 generic replacement bulbs from Amazon A new original

You have used copy lamps and that is not a good idea you really need a genuine OEM you can get one of those from www.dlplampsource.com however I am not sure if you really do have a lamp issue, first off please reboot the box AND the TV by unplugging both from wallpower wait 5 mins then replug back in again let me know if there is any change

OK it could be a bad box you will need to try another input like a DVD player or similar and let me know what that is like

Its beginning to sound in that case like a bad signals board but please try another input this is a crucial check to rule out signal issues from the box

That can then be dismissed for sure this is how we troubleshoot you see, I even carry a dvd player around in the van for this scenario

Yes good idea, its really odd that the commercials are OK was this the same issue with the ORIGINAL lamp ?if it was then you have a signals board issue and this board will likely need to be replaced .....

Yes you will need the 4 digit code I am not sure what the default is but try 1234 and 0000

After the reset I put picture on vivid and put on 62 brightness and everything was as before - dark

It will need a signals board then you are sure about commercials being totally unaffected?if so there is a problem with the signals

Commercials are the same when streaming online. The last movie I rented was extremely dark and the sound got softer when it should have gotten louder.
