JA: What's the make and model of your tv, and can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: getting that info now
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: Model number LF501EM5F. I purchased it in Nov. 2015. Did not try all sources
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Just started last SUnday
JA: Anything else you want the TV expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Havent had any problem with it prior to last Sunday. It is hooked to a direct tv box

When the set shuts off what exactly happens with the power-light on the front of the set?does it blink?does it change color?let me know please

I turned it on. It didn't turn off but still flickers, Changed HDMI sources and still flickers. Picture and volume are both clear except for the jumpiness

Please reboot any satellite or cable box you may be using by un-plugging the box from wallpower wait 5 mins then re-plug back in again do the same with the TV at the same time, let everything boot back up (usually 3 to 5 mins) then let me know if anything changes please
