I push the on button the tv turns on and after about 5 minutes it turns off
JA: What's the make and model of your tv, and has turning it on been a problem in the past?
Customer: 50 inch Panasonic viera, it worked all along
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: I do not have a remote.
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: I do t think anything happened, I just pushed the button this evening
JA: Is there anything else the TV Technician should be aware of?

If I'd buy a remote would that work? I can hear a click once I push the on button, the tv comes on for a few minutes than it turns off.

Would the TV turn on and operate as expected if the POWER button on the TV itself is used/pressed?

Have you tried unplugging the TV for an extended period of time?

...and then plugging back in but into a different outllet?

The tv is on a wall mount it's a bit difficult to lift off and unplug.

you guys forced me to pay over $30 for a guy to tell me to unplug and plug back in? Seriously this is what you call customer support?

You may hove a power board falling if you go to eBay and order the power board that should fix that tv they range from 20 to 45 type your model number in eBay it should bring up all the parts it's easy to install
