Facing TV Problems? Ask a TV Technician.
Hello and thank you for your question. I look forward to assisting you today. Can you tell me please how you have it connected to your TV?
Has the HDMI ever worked on the larger TV?
Okay, but it will not work with the security system then is that correct?
Can you give me the make and model of the TV please?
I need the make and model of the TV you are connecting the qsee into please.
Okay. Well your Qsee has a video output resolution of 720P. If your TV is set higher than that, it will not detect the video signal coming from the Qsee. Try changing the video resolution of the TV down to 720P and see if that produces video from your system then let me know how you come out.
Well I can't tell you without knowing the make and model.
Just checking to see if you have located the make and model of your TV. Please let me know.
Okay thank you. Do you know which model it is please?
Okay well we can give it a try. Using your original TV remote, is there a button marked Settings?
How about a button marked input?
When you press that is one of the selections that appears on the screen labeled PC?
How many HDMI ports do you have on your TV and how long is the cable you are using?
How about the length of cable?
Okay. I presume you have tried connecting to both ports?
Does your TV have any RCA connectors besides the HDMI?
Does it have any connectors besides the HDMI?
Well without knowing your model for sure, your HDMI ports are most likely auto-detecting and should change to the resolution of the source that is connected to them. If I knew for sure what other type of connectors you had, I might be able find some way to convert the HDMI so you can view the Qsee on your TV.
Okay sounds good.
Okay with the model number.
Okay, let me do some checking and I will let you know.
Try pressing the Format button on your remote while your Qsee is connected to see if it will detect the input. You may need to press it several times before you see any video.
Check the attachment. It might explain it better.
Okay, well it is apparently not detecting video from the Qsee. I did find that your TV has RCA ports located on the rear. The one for video should be colored yellow.
Is there video coming out of the Qsee port?
What I meant was can you verify you have video coming out of the Qsee?
Do you have another TV with an HDMI port?
Okay, well I think your only option left with this TV then is to use the RCA port on the back rather than the HDMI port. To do that, you would need a converter.
My pleasure! Please remember to rate my service and have a nice day!
Can you explain in more detail please? If that were the case it would still that would only effect the recorded video. Live video would not be effected.
Does it give you any errors when you try to record?
How do you have your recording setup? Manual, motion, etc?
You need to go into the Record Configuration and select each individual camera you want to record if you haven't done that yet?
I would suspect the operating system loads from the hard drive. If the drive had failed, I wouldn't think there would be any operation at all?
