Cant open hdmi port, insignia 32" LED TV model

cant open hdmi port
JA: What's the exact make and model of your television? And have you done any troubleshooting yourself?
Customer: insignia 32" LED TV model NS-32D310NA17
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: TV works fine just cant highlight HDMI input #1
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: TV is newer never could open the port
JA: Is there anything else important you think the expert should know?
Customer: thinking port on desktop Acer has to be enabled for TV to see it, or maybe screen rewsolution

HDMI1 will only be selectable if it detects a valid input.

If HDMI1 on your TV has never worked with any device then it has a fault.

It should be returned to the retailer if it is still under warranty.
