Go to SETUP in the menu , open that and go to VIERA LINK SETTINGS , open that and scroll down to RESET TO DEFAULTS

See if you can do that without being asked the password *****

First try this ; turn on the TV. Reduce the volume to a minium level. Press and
hold VOLUME on the front of the TV and press the 0 button on the remote control
simultaneously. Select the LOCK mode, then enter a new password

Which volume button on the TV, there are two - one up and one down (or + & -). Which do I press?

To reduce the volume to a minimum it would be VOLUME DOWN

+and - should be the volume

Simultaneously holding down the plus/minus volume minus buttons on the TV and the numeral zero button did nothing.

Not both , only volume down

0 on remote ., volume down tv

Volume down button + 0 button on remote = no action... nothing occurred. The individual items each work fine.

O.k , not done yet

Press and hold the “VOLUME ( - )”button on the TV and press the “MENU” button on the remote control for more than 3 seconds.
If diagnostic screen , let it finish
Disconnect the AC cord from wall outlet 20 secs and plug back in

Progress. TV is now in self-check mode. Nothing on screen is updating/changing, but allowing time for whatever is happening to finish. Will pull power for 20 secs once this screen refreshes or goes away.

O.k then this should do it , just wait for the self check to finish and pull out the power cord

Did it work with the MENU or OK on the remote ?

You may have to do the first time setup but you can skip the channel search

There is a table displayed with 10 criteria. All say, okay. ROMCORR CHECKSUM: 00 Nothing updating or changing on screen. If nothing happens in five mins, should I power cycle the TV? BTW, it was the VOLUME MINUS (TV) + MENU (REMOTE) that created the self-check screen.

Wait a couple minutes although i believe its done now

By the way , the factory default password ***** ***** if it is asking
