I have just bought a Samsung smart tv but it won't memorise the channels
JA: How old is your Samsung, and have you tried unplugging it and leaving it off for a few hours?
Customer: i have just bought it 3 hours ago
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: i am still trying to set it up,but i do have some menus

In order to try and help you I need to ask for some more information:

1) How is it you're trying to provide channels to the TV- is there a cable box? If so, HOW is that box connected- is it using an HDMI cable?

2) WHAT EXACTLY do you see on the screen of the Samsung right now?
