I called about my vizio controller a while back and now have

I called about my vizio controller a while back and now have discovered it is not the problem as a friend took it home with him and tried it on his and it works. So it has to be something with the box. My case # ***** 13915581
JA: Can you guesstimate how old your Vizio is? And just to clarify, what's the exact model?
Customer: It will be a year toward the end of this month and my warranty will be up.
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: The box works if I use the side buttons.
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: I had a email where I was supposed to send pictures and I can't remember but I think the end of Nov. The controller will not turn on the box. It will not even light it up.
JA: Anything else you want the TV expert to know before I connect you?
