I played a dvd and now cannot get TV signal back on TV. I

I played a dvd and now cannot get TV signal back on TV. I have a wireless tv connection to att uverse and everything worked fine until I played the dvd. All controls on the box are working fine, I just don't know what buttons to hit on the remotes to get tv signal back. can you help me?
JA: What's the make and model of your television? And is the remote the same, universal, or for another device?
Customer: Sony TV, not high definition, dvd and tv remotes also sony. The remote that controls the box is provided by ATT
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: Can only get choices when hit menu of video 1 or video 2 or no signal
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: TV worked fine until brother in law decided to play a dvd at Christmas on that TV, and when I wanted to watch a TV show, it was still in dvd mode. TV will play a dvd just fine, but cannot get TV channels back
JA: Anything else you want the TV expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: 'Don't think so. Just think I need to know what buttons to hit on which remote to get signal back.

Where cable is connected on receiver says TV video out and other end is connected to uhf vhf on vhs box

Please power On the VCR and playback a tape, select Video-1 or Video-2 input in TV to get VCR playback picture.

Now press Stop on VCR to stop playback, do you get cable channel picture on TV?

Video tape never did show on TV, but could tell tape was running. Tried with TV set to video 1 and video 2
