This is most likely a setting on the new cable box,
take your cable remote, and look for a button that says SAP. If you see that, press it, repeatedly if needed, to set it to Off.
If you don't see that, go into the cable box menu/settings, and look (usually under Audio/Sound, Accessibility, or Options) for the SAP, MTS, or Language option, which you'll set to Off or English.
