Facing TV Problems? Ask a TV Technician.
Hi , I`m Jack and I will be helping you today , sorry for the delay ,just saw your question myselfPlease note that I am an independent tech. that depends on your positive rating to get paid by this website and I have no control over the phone (or other) offers , they are sent by the website ,not by me but let me know if you`d rather do this on the phone. That being said , a few questions coming up and by the way , pearl that greeted you is a computer so never mind the odd questions and suggestions; Please let me know when you are ready to proceed .Also ,Could you please give me the tv`s model number written on the back cover ?
Is the screen a bright blue like a no signal screen or dark with just some background light (backlight) ?
Same as with the old t-con ?
No on screen display like volume level ,channel numbers etc. ?
If you look at the main board (with input connectors) can you see this number BN94-07727C on a bar coded sticker ?
O.k then , I`ll start by saying that a defective t-con would`ve given you either distorted picture , vertical lines or almost totally dark with only background light .
What you have is a defective main board namely its video processing circuit .
This board normally sells for less than $40 .
Where did you buy your t-con ?
Was it some parts reseller or a private ?
Reason for asking is that you perhaps could`ve returned your t-con in exchange for the main board
In any case i`m looking for your board right now
You mean that you get a picture , like normal picture on half the screen ?
Or you just get a half blue screen ?
O.k and if you switch to the other side , does it do the same thing ?
This is worse than i thought then , it would point to a defective panel
You get the same exact response with both t-cons ?
This is rather odd .
At this point difficult to call but we know its not the t-con .
I have a main board here that sells for $54 if you want to give it a try ;
Otherwise you are looking at a defective panel .
Only way to find out now is to try it .
You got a link above for that .
You would need service manuals , data and oscilloscopes to see the signal and that is IF you could find data , only way for you is to try it
Nothing simple about electronics i`m afraid , sometimes it will be apparent but not always and your ways of troubleshotting is quite unorthodox , i would `ve replaced the main board right away
Yes but that bright blue screen would not be consistent with a t-con (usually)
Wish i could be more specific but in this case there is no other ways but to try it
