My TV keeps blacking out every few minutes for a short time...Just enough to drive me crazy
JA: What's the make and model of your tv, and can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: Model is UN46EH5000F, its about 4 yrs old
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: No just on this TV all else work. The sound is on, just the picture
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: It started yesterday, but didn't turn it on again till this afternoon. Finally home and now this is happening. I have has Samsung repair it oncw before
JA: Anything else you want the TV expert to know before I connect you?

Hello, Sorry you're having problems. There's a couple possible causes of the TV blacking out like this:

1) A faulty/intermittent HDMI cable from the cable box to the TV. Or a cable box that needs to be rebooted.

2) Faulty/intermittent backlights to the TV screen.

That said, WHAT is connected to this TV (for example: Cable/SAT box, Home Theater, DVD, etc.)? Also WHEN the screen blacks out, if you grab the original Samsung remote and press MENU, will the TV's own MENU display, or does it also black out?
