My projector image is starting to flicker and loses color

Customer Question

My projector image is starting to flicker and loses color after a while. I don;t think it's the lamp (no signal has come on to say that the lamp is dying out) and it's not the source image as it looks fine on a regular TV.
JA: What's the make and model of your tv, and can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: It's a project not a TV. I don;t have that info right now.
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: Yes. The TV menu is fine. The cable signal is fine on my other tv sets. Remember this is a projector.
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Nothing. It just started happening this week.
JA: Anything else you want the TV expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: That this is a projector not a tv I;m talking about.
