The left side of the display has a multi colored vertical

Customer Question

the left side of the display has a multi colored vertical line on the very edge of the display and then a solid black image about 2-3 inches in width all the way up and down vertically.
JA: What's the model number of your TV? How old is it?
Customer: tc-p65s60, 2013 manufactured
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: on netflix which is connected via ethernet cable, and on hdmi input also
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: couple of days , nothing that we can attribute it to ,possibly disconnected a hdmi input from xbox
JA: Anything else you want the TV expert to know before I connect you?

Does the line always appear in the same place?

It appears in the same place and the same way all the time i use a ethernet input for my internet and a hdmi for my direct TV input and it appears on both i will take a pic and send it

This type of banding occurs when the Data Driver board fails.

There are actually three data driver boards in this TV set - board C3 controls the left side of the TV, so you will need to replace the C3 Data Driver board.

The board is a long, thin board located near the bottom left corner of the TV set and is connected to the display.

Yes it is the board behind the speaker, at the very bottom of the TV set. It is linked to the adjacent TNPA5756 board with a ribbon cable.

It didn't quite work as seen on the attached pic. The other strip down the other side is new and I understand it might just be a bad connection on one of the ribbons connected to the new card but the original problem still exist. Any other idea's?

Yes it could be caused by a loose ribbon cable or a damaged board or connector on one of the C1/C2/C3 boards.

Did replacing the C3 board fix the original problem?

Ok, have you checked the ribbon cable connections between the boards, and removed and firmly reconnected them?

I have not been able to check the ribbon I have had a back problem that turned into a herniated disc, and have been directed to not to do any work these last few days the original problem still exists and the new problem is also existing, I will attempt to align the cable and get back to you, but the new card obviously has not been fixed.
