i have a thick black vertical line towards the left of the screen.
JA: How long has this been going on?
Customer: Six days now.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Call cable people who at first said where was a issue with the cable box. When they returned the next day a new tech said there was a trouble with the tv.
JA: What is the exact make and model of your tv? And how long has this been an issue?

If you open the TV's own menu , does it cover that line or you can still see it atop the menu ?
