Thanks for waiting

This would be caused by one of the logic buffer board ,usually called E and F buffers /drives

Only problem with the latest plasma Samsung made is that they mounted those boards permanent at the back of the panel as the old system of removable board were having too many problems with bad contacts so now they are soldered/bonded to the panels ribbon cables.

Unfortunately now with this system this means that you cannot replace them and also means that you now have a defective panel .

You could try to reseat the ribbon cables that go from the logic board and to those buffers but I doubt it will do any good .

Sorry about the bad news here but those last plasma Samsung made were a bad deal and they offered no support whatsoever for them once the warranty was over .

Wish i had better news and an easier solution for you today but i hope this help and I will be in standby if you have any questions.
Thank you and please take the time to rate my answer if that answers your question and you can still reach me here at anytime after this chat is closed if you have other questions.

essentially I would have to replace the tv?
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

Sorry to say but yes unless you would find the same exact model with a different problem ... which would be rare , they all die from this ailment

Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

And forget support from samsung

Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

They closed down shop on plasma TV's , no parts or support whatsoever
