Customer Question

Have a band of icons appeared at top and bottom of screen. They are different icons on the bottom and when they appear at the top, the ones at the bottom disappear. I have tried different things and they'll disappear for a few minutes and then return.

Hello, I’m Nathan, and I’ll be assisting you today. My livelihood depends on your positive feedback, so your satisfaction is my highest priority.

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble.

What is the make/model of the tv?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It's a Sony CTV LCD EX400
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Or model no KDL32EX400 if that's easier
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 year ago.

Thanks, ***** ***** describe those icons a bit more?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
On the bottom - BE3 Bravia Engine/Demo Mode (Loop) Bravia Engine 3/off
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
On the top - Bravia EX4/Ambient sensor/BE 3 Bravia Engine/ USB/Full HD 1080/Bravia Sync/TM + 4 more icons
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 year ago.

Thank you for confirming.
So that means that the tv is in the retail/demo mode, rather than the home use mode.
Go into the tv settings menu, and under Initial Setup, and set the Use Mode to HOME

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Not sure which menu, I have a Hone button and the options are e-pop, Bravia engine 3 and Demo mode (loop)
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 year ago.

The main menu, where you'd have picture/sound options, etc.

Home menu is not it.

It should say just Menu or Setup

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No if I go into i- Manual I have an option for using the home menu
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 year ago.

It isn't part of the manual, it will be in the main menu with the picture/sound options.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok they're under the Options button but there is no Home option
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 year ago.

I"m sorry I misunderstood you then I think when you were saying the home button.

So do you see Initial Setup?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Options for picture, sound, add to favourites, twin picture etc?
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 year ago.

Keep looking, you should see either Initial Setup, or Factory Reset

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I'm not seeing initial set up
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 year ago.

Do you see an Advanced section of the menu, or a Factory Reset option?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 year ago.

Keep scrolling to get to the next page.

you need to get to Advanced, and from there you'll see Reset

Expert:  Nathan replied 1 year ago.

So for the whole sequence: Menu, Setup, Advanced, Reset

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have 3 option there which are e-pop/Bravia engine 3 and Demo mode (loop)
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 year ago.

You're in the wrong menu still.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok, the buttons I've got are Theatre/sync menu/I-manual/digital analogue/guide/information/return/options and home. What do you suggest?
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 year ago.

Look in options first, please, if not there then home.

From there you're looking for setup, then advanced, then pick reset

this factory resets the tv, you'll have to go through the setup (channel scan, etc) and will then see an option for use mode and pick Home (not retail/demo)

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It's not in options or home
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 year ago.

Try using the actual menu button on the tv itself

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Where is that I'm not a technician
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 year ago.

Should be right on the front of the tv.

Are you sure you are using the correct remote?

Do you perhaps have a sony dvd player remote you're using instead of the tv remote?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Can you call me?
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 year ago.

Yes if you'd prefer, but the site does charge an additional fee for that, I sent an optional offer if you'd like that.
