Hello, I can help you with this, but I need more info to find out exactly what you have here.

1) What model Toshiba DVD do you have- is it a Blu Ray player?

2) Is the player connected to the TV using an HDMI cable or AV type cables?

3) Do you have the original Sony remote- or can you GET it?

Just wondering if you needed help with this? If so can you reply back with ANY of the info above?

I see you are viewing the question again but not replying for whatever reason. On the BACK of your Sony TV, is a + button. Locate it by looking at the back of your TV. This button selects the different INPUTS on the set. Turn on your Toshiba DVD player and press that + button on the TV repeatedly until you see the DVD player image on the screen.
