Is there any power-light lit or blinking please on the front of the set?

OK so I am assuming from that the sets own menu does not come up, now what I need you to do is connect up a DVD player or similar get it going then once every second press the INPUT or SOURCE button of the TV sets own remote control you are looking for the sound ....let me know

Offhand the blinking light on the Samsung indicates a hardware failure, and not something that can be corrected via any settings or adjustments. The most common cause of this is a faulty power board or mainboard, which requires service to the set. On average you're looking at between $250-$300 in repairs to have this fixed.
