The demo model I used did not have this so I am confused
Also must the thin film on the front of the screen be removed

If you are referring to a cellophane over the display this should be removed yes, its a screen protection for transit purposes

OK what you need to do is try another input like a DVD player or a blu-ray anything outside how you are viewing TV services just to eliminate any box or antenna issues and let me know how the set behaves with that
