Facing TV Problems? Ask a TV Technician.
Hi and welcome to JustAnswer,Thank you for the question and your patience. Should you still need assistance for information purposes only...Initially, bear with us; re-confirm and post back with the complete model numbers of the "...blue ray player and samsung tv..." Additionally, please describe how the Blu-ray player is currently connected to the TV using what kind of cable(s).
Appreciate the additional information.
The simplest connections would be putting the Pioneer in between the Blu-ray player and the TV; i.e. Samsung BD-HM59-ZA's HDMI OUT to the Pioneer's HDMI IN1 (or 2 or 3) and then the Pioneer's HDMI OUT to the TV's unused HDMI port.
Has the above been tried?
And how is the DirecTV currently connected to the TV please?
Similarly, the DirecTV can be connected to the Pioneer's HDMI IN2 or 3.
Thus all sources would pass through the Pioneer first.
Would you consider/try this connection method?
Thanks....and would look forward to an update.
Can you please re-check/review?
The sound is expected to be from the Pioneer connected speakers.
Does the Pioneer have sound when in AM or FM mode?
If yes, have you checked if the Pioneer receiver's HDMI sound is enabled?
AV PARAMETER / ▼▲ to select HDMI / ◄► to select AMP / RETURN
Have you tried using the Pioneer's INPUT SELECT to switch to HDMI 1 which is the Bluray player?
Great! Good to hear that the issue has been resolved, congratulations.
Glad that the above information served your purpose and would appreciate a Positive Rating and/or an Accept if so warranted (if haven't done so).
Would look forward to it...
