Hi , I`m Jack
Perhaps I can help you with this problem but first a few questions

Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

What is the tv doing now if anything ?
Is there a light or blinking light at the front , clicking sound from inside when you plug in the power cord or try to turn it on ?
Did it quit while watching it or simply would not come on today ?
Any electrical storm or power blackout in your area prior to this ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
answer to all no. Turned it off at night wiould not turn back on .
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

O.k then this makes it pretty easy at this point , the TV's power supply circuit is dead .

Can you give me the model number of this tv ?

How do you want to proceed from here ?
Look into this yourself or the repair shop ?

Let me know and i will help you along if you wish to look into repairing this yourself ,otherwise i will give you the details and costs you could expect.

I thought there was a recall on this problem since it happened frequently a few years ago?
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

Right now what you have is a dead tv and that is pretty generic .

Possibly that what is causing this in your tv may have been the subject of a recall but 3 1/2 years later ??

Beside , I don't have the model number or even the brand name for that matter .

What are we talking about here ???

forget it.
