Welcome! We are now connected together on this convenient website. I am an experienced electronics field technician and your satisfaction is my top priority. To get started we need more information (additional details may be required):

1. What is the full model number of the Tv? see sticker on back of tv
2. Exactly which type, which connection ports on the back of the DVD recorder are you using? and what input ports are used on the tv?

3. If you access the MENU of the DVD recorder, is the menu scrambled also?

system shows up but part of screen is scrambled
Expert:  Mike G. replied 1 year ago.

Please try:

-leave tv on

-locate the POWER cord for the DVD player and unplug it from the wall outlet

-wait 10 seconds and plug that POWER cord back in.

-watch the tv screen as you turn the DVD player back on.

Check if the menu screen is still scrambled. If it is:

-replace the VIDEO cable with a new one.

-try the DVD player on another tv.

-try another video player on this tv.

Expert:  Mike G. replied 1 year ago.

The video cable may be defective.

The DVD player may be defective.

The port on the tv may be defective.

If you have done all of the above and still need help, use the REPLY option and attach some PICTURES of the tv screen showing the problem.

I have donated my invaluable time helping you rather than other paying customers. Please be sure to click the 5 STARS or SMILEYS rating now or at least say "thank you for you time". Rating now does NOT close the question or prevent us from continuing our conversation here. My livelihood truly does depend on your positive rating. Clicking the "bad/poor" rating does NOT do anything to fix your issue, nor does it issue you a refund.

Thank you,
