Facing TV Problems? Ask a TV Technician.
Are you using the Sony remote that originally came with the TV, or some other remote?
Do any of the remote control functions still work?
-Can the volume buttons still control the TV?
There’s an issue with your payment method. It did not go through so I cannot call.
What happens when you press the Input button at the top of the Sony remote?
Does anything appear on the screen?
Ok, please try submitting card information to the site again.
Can you check that the Comcast box is powered on and still connected to the TV, then press the Input button on the remote, wait, check, press it again, wait, check, press it again, until you see the Comcast display.
Yes, sorry for the delay.
Your payment information still doesn't seem to have cleared...
Can you see the Comcast display now?
Ok, I will continue.
Ok, so the TV is still on the wrong input selection.
Can you press the Input button again and continue until you see the Comcast channels?
Have the children connected any new cables to the rear of the TV?
Ok, can you press the Input button on the remote once, and let me know what is displayed on the TV screen?
Then press it again, and let me know what is then displayed on the TV screen?
Ok, so the TV always says "Hdml1/mhl No signal", no matter how many times you press the Input button?
Ok, so when you press it again it shows HDM2?
You need to keep pressing it until you see the connection that the Comcast box is connected to.
You can use the arrow buttons to move down the input list and press the OK button to select different inputs.
You can also press the Input button on the side of the TV to cycle through the available inputs if the remote is not working:
the TV's control panel buttons are hidden at the side of the TV.
The input button that is second from button.
- sorry, second from BOTTOM!
Ok, then you will need to either use the up and down arrow buttons on the remote control to select a different input and try it, or use the + and - buttons on the control panel behind the TV to move through the different inputs and find the correct one for Comcast.
Ok, then the TV appears not to be receiving a signal from the Comcast box.
Check that the cables are connected securely at both ends.
If that doesn't work, test the Comcast box on a different TV, or test a different input on your Sony TV (e.g. try connecting a DVD player to the same input port).
If the cables are connected ok and the DVD player works, then this indicates that there is a fault with the Comcast box.
You can test the Comcast box on another TV, or replace the Comcast box.
Based on the information you have provided, the Comcast box is faulty and will need to be replaced.
I hope this helps.
