Can you tell me more about the antenna you have?

Okay, can you please recheck that tv model number for me as well?

As an initial step, what you have to do first is set the input mode to TV (not to hdmi, video, etc)

From there you go into the vizio setup menu (may/may not be possible with your universal remote, you really need the proper vizio remote for this),

then in the Initial Setup or Tuner section, you're looking to set the mode (air, not cable) and then run the auto scan (auto program) function to load up the local channels.

Thanks for confirming.

Have you gone through the auto program steps yet?

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I did the TV option.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I only have the buttons on the side of the screen. And, none of those give me an auto option.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I don't have the Vizio remote, and I need to program the universal one.

Closing out. Bye.
Expert:  Nathan replied 2 years ago.

The universal remotes typically will not work for these tvs, beyond just power and volume.

Would you like a link to purchase the proper vizio remote?

Expert:  Nathan replied 2 years ago.

You can get one online for about $15, here: http://amzn.to/1MFWQu2

It doesn't need any programming, it will work for your tv right out of the box so you can do the channel scan.
