I have the last of your 50 inch plasmas...Model #TC-P50

Customer Question

I have the last of your 50 inch plasmas...Model #TC-P50 GT50. It has been a great set until a few days ago. My Dvd player with 1080P still works great on all HDMI inputs whether thru wifi, i.e. Netflix & Amazon or a dvd. BUT I Cannot get any interlaced signal
(720I or 1080I) from any Directv receivers - only with a 1080P or 720P signal. I just get a blank screen. 2 Directv technicians tried three new receivers that work perfectly on my other TV sets, one of which is also a Pansonic Plasma, the other is a great old Sony CRT. Seems like only this Panasonic set will not respond to any interlaced signal... I changed out high speed HDMI cables...still no picture. Toslink and Coax digital audio sound fine through HDMI output cables or direct to my separate receiver works fine. What needs to be done to get Directv video output to show on my blank TV screen?

Hello, Have you tried using analog HD cables in the form of Component Video?

Expert:  Aric replied 1 year ago.

Component is also capable of 1080I and would be the same quality as the HDMI interlaced signal. Or, alternatively, does DTV not make a box that is capable of HDMI in 1080P?
