Hello, In short- No, you can't hook a subwoofer directly up to the TV that would give you any functionality. The TV only uses a digital audio out-which is a fixed output (does not adjust with the volume of the TV), and also requires a digital converter to connect to.
The most basic workaround, is to purchase a small external amp with RCA outputs, and a converter. Then connect the subwoofer and a set of speakers to the amp. If you need suggestions to this equipment let me know.
