We have a "smudge" in the middle of the screen (inside) how can we remove it?
Hi! My name isXXXXX am happy to help you with this! Please bear with me and be patient as sometimes these issues take a little bit of figuring out before we know what's wrong. If you could give me some more information it will be very helpful:

-Can you double check that model number please, its not coming up in any database.

-How old is the unit?

- Do you have this problem while watching all different devices hooked to this television? (DVD player, cable, satellite, game console, etc.)

-Can you get me a picture of this?

Please give me this information and I will be happy to assist you further.
Thank you,
Tim Nolan

model #LC3760N

Age July 2006

We haven't watched a DVD and are on Dish satellite

Ok, can you get me a picture of this?

Also, can you check dvd and make sure you still see it please.

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

I can't send you a picture, sorry.

The smudge is still there while playing a DVD.

Can you describe this smudge? I have an idea of what you are talking about but want to be sure.

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

It's about 4 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches wide. It has a brownish tint and is almost dead center in the screen.

Is it perfect in shape or more of a blob?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

More of a blob. narrow at top and bottom and wider in the middle.

OK and this just showed up out of the blue? DId you notice it getting worse over time or just there all of the sudden?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Yes and it appears to be darker over the last month

OK, so this is not good Mike, since the beginning I have suspected that you have a delaminating LCD panel. All your answers to my questions only confirm this suspicion.

The problem is there really is no way to get rid of this. What is happening is the different layers of the panel are delaminating causing this "smude" looking area.

The only way to fix it is to replace the LCD panel, but that is not an option because you could buy two new tvs cheaper than you could buy just the part, that is if you could even find the part for sale.

I am very sorry to bring bad news Mike, but there is no way to fix this problem. I really wish there was.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or need any other information at all, if you do please use the reply to expert tab. If this was all the info you needed then please remember to rate me before leaving. Please do not hesitate to ask anything, happy to help in any way I can!
