Are you connected with a cable box,satellite receiver etc ?
Or directly to cable/antenna ?

I might have something easy enough for you to try tonight

Jack :

Unplug the cable box`s power cord off the wall for a couple of minutes and try it again

Customer:

alright, here goes, I will. No sound.

Jack :

Did you pull off the power cord ?

Customer:

I,m out of energy for tonight. Thanks Jack but I think I'll quit. Yes. the stations all say, to be announced.

Jack :

Note that it may take a few minutes for the cable box to restart/reboot after you plug it back

Customer:

I can't struggle anymore with the cords in the back.

Jack :

it is just the power cord

not the other cords

unplug the cable box from the house AC electricity

yes and it still hasn't rebooted

yes it may take a minute or two

Customer:

the picture is spectacular, maybe because I can't hear anything

Still rebooting ?

should I call comcast and have them refresh the signal?

has it finished re-booting ?

yes to be announced

It says 'to be announced " on the screen ??

it hasn't rebooted

o.k , you have to wait until it finishes

no on the guide

Sometimes it takes up to 5 minutes

Customer:

I guess I'm too tired to be patient with it.

Jack :

Also make sure the volume is up on your tv but not too loud otherwise you may get a rush when it comes back on

Customer:

It' not coming in. Good picture no guide and no sound

Customer:

It was working very well today but I moved the wires and now no sound

Customer:

It may be too loud if it comes in

Jack :

o.k then it may have to do with your wiring if it was working before you moved those cables

Customer:

now the guide is back and no sound, I have changed the wires in back

Jack :

Well, if you want to try to re-connect those wire tomorrow, send me a reply and i`ll be with you ASAP

can we take a rain check and get back tomorrow, what time?

Do you have anything else like a dvd connected to your tv ?

oh yes

still no sound but daylight helps to see things at the back of the tv. Comcast gives me a Motorola Cable Box and it has a row of five outputs red green blue tetc

Is that where you cables are connected , the component Y-Pb-Pr for picture and 2 red/white for left/right audio ?

Thats a total of 5 cables

so the cables coming into the tv, its hard to get to the back of the thing, give me a sec

I just disconnected everycable for the tv

y pb fr and a red and white audio output?

Input 3 would do it ,yes

And on your cable box , just above the card slot and in a horizontal row you have the same component connectors

Jack :

You will see that every jack/connectors have their colors

those are the conns that were there in the first place still in

Jack :

Use the same colors on both ends of that cable, they are the same on your tv

Jack :

o.k then if thats where it was on your tv, then just connect them back on the cable box where i told you

yes in input 3

on to the tv I'' do that

on your cable box , just above the card slot and in a horizontal row you have the same component connectors

red blue gren are in but not sure about the audio

I he a dvd player also which I've disconnected

audio is to the left of those connectors Y-Pb-Pr on the cable box

O.k then if you look at the back of the dvd player, can you tell me what kind of cables/connections are there ?

The cables are 5 feet long and the tv is foot from everything

yellow red white

O.k then that is standard audio/video , be right back

Input 2 on your tv would do just fine

Jack :

Same thing as before ,use the color coded connectors

Customer:

I think I have an s-cable too

O.k but you still will need 2 audio red/white cables

the colored wires are in 2

You have the red/white/yellow cable ?

Customer:

yes there is no only a red and white radio shack set of wires coming out from the dvd box

But do you have a spare red/white /yellow cable or just 2 sets of re/whites ?

and a yellow radio shack pin connector which I thing was in the s-cab;

O.k then use that one along with the red/white cable

Input 2 has a S-video input

the dvd is reading.no sound on the dvd

yes I had to turn on the Sherwood radio aux etc
