Chuck Williams :

I need to know the model number of the TV, it will begin with a "K".

Chuck Williams :

Also, do you know which fan is defefctive? Sony TV's use several fans inside.

JACUSTOMER-1ck5tzit- :

Kdf50E2000 is the model.....the fan is located inside the panel with the lcd lamp. When I remove the panel and the lock panel inside of that it is directly to the right. I can touch it with my hand.

Chuck Williams :

Is it the fan I have circled in red below?

where can I get the part and how difficult is it to change?

This fan is super easy to replace. The fan has a connector that just unplugs, and to get the fan out, all you do is take the back off of the TV and take the screws out of the front of the metal cage, and it essentially falls out. There will be 8 blue rubber bumpers that go into the front and back four corners of the fan that you have to put on the new fan, but othe than that, it's really a piece of cake to do.

The part number for the fan is 1-787-373-11, and if you click on Encompass and log in as a guest, just put that number in the part number box and you can order it from them.
