I have a phillips 55 inch flat screen television model# 50pf9681D/37

Customer Question

I have a phillips 55 inch flat screen television model# XXXXX serial#ya1bo642002344, ambilight 2 channel pix plus 3hd. This morning the television just went off no one touched it or was near it. We have not been able to get it to come back on we are getting no sound or a picture. When it went off it just went blank not like a fuse blowing. The T.V. has a power plug is it possible that could be the problem. Please advise what we need to do. Thank you

Hello JA Customer
I have been fixing Tv and Electronics since I was 5 years old
With better than 20 years experience and 17 years in business
Is there a blinking light on front?
does the ambilight light up?
is there sound?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
Nothing comes on
Expert:  Anthony F. replied 7 years ago.
No clicks nothing?
Unplug the tv wait 5 min and see if it trys to come on
obeserve and listen for every litttle click and flashing light
if you have absolulty nothing you have a blown fuse and maybe a bad power board
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
I have done that and got nothing no clicks no flashing lights absolutely nothing.
Expert:  Anthony F. replied 7 years ago.
you must have blown the main fuse
this fuse uasually does not blow without a reason
you may have had a power surge
try to replace it
the worst the could happen is it blows again
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
What do you mean should I replace the plug. What is the power surge?
Expert:  Anthony F. replied 7 years ago.
Where did I say that?
I said FUSE
you will need to dissamble the tv
remove about 45 screws
then take the back off
look at the power board and check the fuse
Perhaps you should just call for service
seeing as you don't have a clue as to what Im telling you
it will be better for you not to get in where you do not understand
Call for service
'The power board can be found here Don't be surprised when you get a bill for this part
