It hesitates when it shifts while driving.
Shifting from parked vehicle into drive it is fine.

O.k.,this is a generic code for your vehicle here and not Mercedes specific.But this code indicates an issue with the IMS or internal mode switch from what I see.The IMS can be sending a false signal on what gear the transmission is actually shifted into manually and this will cause hesitation when shifting.I have seen the IMS fail in the past before causing issues with it needing replaced.

The IMS signals need checked/tested with a compatible scan tool or dealers sds machine to see for sure if it needs replaced.The dealers sds machine usually walks through the testing for any codes set to help pinpoint which component needs replaced.

This sounds like the IMS has a fault or the valve body itself as they were both common causes.
