Customer Question
Hello, I...

Hello, I have a 2007 Elantra with the A4CF1 transmission. It has a fault that manifests itself as a loud *clunk * after maybe 20 miles of driving. The O/D disengages into 3rd (limp) and I am forced to continue in One gear ratio only ( 55 mph @ 3000rpm approx. ) I pulled the Valve body out and changed them. Unfortunately being English, I have not a lot of experience with Auto gearboxes, and split the valve body into it's two parts where I actually didn't need to. So theres the background and here's my question: 1: Where do the 2 steel check balls and springs locate?

Mechanic's Assistant: When was your transmission fluid last checked?

I changed the in/out sensors and fluid approx. 500 miles ago to see if this could have been the issue. This car has 200,000miles and is on its ( at least ) 6th fluid change ( approx. 5.5quarts )

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Elantra yourself? What have you tried so far?

Yes I am. 1: In/out sensors 2: Solenoid pack ( not the pressure control solenoid )

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Not really - I just need to know the location of the 2 x check balls and springs, before re-assembly.
