My 4x4 light on the dash wont work and the 4x4 system wont

Customer Question

my 4x4 light on the dash wont work and the 4x4 system wont work, I did some checks but I think my Gem module is bad.
JA: Have you checked the fuses? The dashboard bulbs?
Customer: yes and I bought a new 4x4 selector switch also. and all new vacuum lines to.
JA: What is the model/year of your Ford?
Customer: 1997 f150 4.6
JA: Are you fixing your F150 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes, I used a test light in the connectors that go to the solenoids and that's where im finding my problem.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: well I test the connectors using the negative side of the battery and all went good, but when I used the positive side then there was no action in 2wd or 4wd
