Leaking trans fluid from what loos to be exterior seal on side of transmission with a retaining clip holding it on what is the name of seal
JA: Can you actually see the leak? And is the fluid itself bright red, or is it dirty?
Customer: Dirty yes it was spraying out
JA: What is the model/year of your Subaru?
Customer: 1995 legacy auto transport it .. it is om
JA: Are you fixing your Legacy yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: It is on the right side there is one on top and one on side 5

I'd most likely need to see the area that the fluid is leaking from to be able to determine the source. It sounds as if you could be describing an axle seal if it's on the side.

Are you able to upload a picture showing the seal you're referring to?

Can you post the VIN?
