It is a functional or electrical issues with the PNP switch. The park neutral position switch tells the vehicles main computer what gear you have selected so the computer can correctly control the transmission.

You will need to perform the diagnostic steps I senst to see if the PNP switch wiring is to blame or if the PNP switch is to blame.

Are you on a home PC?
In step 2 it states your checking voltage so DC voltage is what the meter is set to. The sensor is where the shift linkage connects to the transmission.
Sure we can work through the results you get from the diag steps if your not able to follow those steps based on the results you get.
Since your not able to do the test it may be best to just replace the sensor to rule that out.
