JA: How old is the transmission? Have you checked the brake switch?
Customer: 99 expedition, no i have not
JA: Are you fixing your Expedition yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: right now just trying to trouble some things on my own. thought it was the abs
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: will go into drive , but not second. will go in 1st gear, and also reverse

When it is time for 2nd does 2nd act like neutral or does it not even attempt to shift?

Is your trans pan square with both rear corners angled off or is it rectangle with a drain plug in the middle?
