my shift linkage is off. Have to move down to 2nd, then back up tp drive. Same with reverse. Gotta move it off a bit, then back
JA: How old is the transmission? Have you noticed any leaking?
Customer: It is a 2008. The band was broken. I overhauled it myself. Changed band, and did shift kit on valve body. It is a CD4E
JA: What is the model of your '08 Ford?
Customer: Escape XLT 4x4 V6
JA: Are you fixing your Escape yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I noticed there is play at the trans side. Cable moves up and down at least a half inch
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

sounds like the cable itself is stretched. give me a moment i dont believe there is a way to adjust those cables but some fords do allow adjustment.

good news there is an adjustment on this cable i have attached the instructions to perform this.
