I have a 2011 Toyota Tacoma. The truck starts and runs but cannot put it in gear, yet it will not move, even with the parking brake off
JA: How old is the transmission? Have you checked the brake switch?
Customer: transmission is original
JA: Are you fixing your Tacoma yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No, and with hurricane, i'm sort of stuck at the moment
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Possible result of flooding two weeks ago but it has been driven since then

Hello and welcome to just answer and allowing me to assist you.If you don't mind a couple questions to get a better picture of what I'm dealing with. I s this a standard or automatic trans mission?How deep was the water from flood on the truck?

Ok thank you for that info every bit helps to solve this. did you pull the trans mission dip stick to see if the fluid is discolored? milky. Does the shifter move at all?
