its not shifting gears. it gets stuck in the 2nd gear
JA: How old is the transmission? Have you checked the brake switch?
Customer: my car is a 2001 model no, i have not checked the brake switch
JA: What is the model of your '01 Chrysler?
Customer: town and country
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: i havent started working on it first. i wanted to get some idea on what might be going on
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: at some point i thought it was the speed sensor, but someone told me that if the speedometer is workingthen its not a sensor

There are many possible causes for limp in including speed sensors, solenoids and pressure switches, the trans controller itself, wiring and power distribution issues, or internal failure in the transmission.

The first step in diagnosing the problem is to use a scan tool or code reader to see what fault codes have set in the transmission control module. Do you know what codes are setting?
