i have a 1999 infiniti g20 with manual transmission that I just replaced. the old left side axle fits loose inside the new transmission. im trying to figure out what is going on. I ordered the two axles they offer for the base model and the touring and they are the same diameter.

are you sure you are getting the axle lined up inside the transmission

the spline lines up and engaudges with the gear but fits loose by the bearing

Line the splines of the axle up in the tranny and put it in as far as you can. Get a 18" long or so piece of 2x4. Let the hub side of the axle lay down a little and put the 2x4 against the tranny side CV joint. Using a hammer and the 2x4 like a nail and hit the axle into place. The sharp hits will usually seat it in 1-2 blow
