Customer Question

I have a 2000 Ford Focus wagon and after the car has been driven for a while, the transmission will slip when I get around 40 mph. If I take it out of overdrive the car drives fine. Any idea what this could be?

I am sorry that you have not been helped yet. I just came online and saw your question.
Low, dirty or burnt transmission fluid can cause this or a restricted fluid filter, as well as other issues.
So the first step is to check the fluid level, as well as the color and if it smells burnt. If dark brown or black or smells burnt, then the fluid and filter should be replaced.
If ok, let me know and we can go from there
