My 99 Durango 5.9L 4x4 will not shift properly from 2nd gear. 1st and 2nd are fine but once it tries to go into 3rd i get no acceleration as if its in nuetral.

Hi, how does the fluid look? If it looks/smells burnt, You're probably going to need a trans rebuild. 3rd gear is the first gear the front clutch is applied so if it's neutraling out when it hits 3rd, the front clutch pack is most likely smoked or has a bad seal. Either way, the trans most likely will have to come out.
